Planning a trip to Disney with a large group takes detailed planning and coordination. Getting everyone together to enjoy a meal is another aspect of the vacation that will need extra care and planning. While all restaurants at Disney accommodate groups of many sizes, some are better suited for larger groups than others. Below, we share our top picks for the best restaurants at Walt Disney World for large groups.

These restaurants are buffet, family-style, or have a prix fixe menu. This allows you to budget for your meal ahead of time and reduces the time it takes to order with a large group.

Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
This dinner show has been a staple at Walt Disney World since 1974 and is one of the country’s longest-running dinner shows. The restaurant has two dining spaces that are split into three pricing categories. There are many large, round tables for big groups on the first floor (in the first two pricing categories). Large groups can also be seated upstairs in the balcony. The restaurant serves family-style platters of all the BBQ fixings you could want, like fried chicken, baked beans, cornbread, ribs, macaroni and cheese, and coleslaw. The meal ends with strawberry shortcake, something that everyone in the entire restaurant gets excited and sings about. Beer, wine, sangria, and soft drinks are included with your meal, too. The show runs Wednesday through Sundays throughout the year, with three seating times each night.

‘Ohana

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
‘Ohana is a family favorite restaurant offering character dining breakfast and Hawaiian-inspired meals for dinner, all with a view of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Cinderella Castle. If you're seated during the Happily Ever After fireworks display, the restaurant will dim the lights and broadcast the music throughout the dining room for your enjoyment. The dining area is filled with massive round and rectangular tables, which give big groups plenty of options for enjoying a family-style meal together. You’ll meet Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch at breakfast and enjoy a family-style platter piled with Mickey waffles, sausage, bacon, eggs, and Hawaiian ham. At dinner, the skillets are filled with pork dumplings, grilled chicken, teriyaki beef, shrimp, stir-fried noodles, and veggies.

Boma - Flavors of Africa

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Boma is a buffet restaurant that features cuisine from over 50 African countries. It’s a great place to expand your dining palate with specialties such as Tabbouleh, Tunisian Couscous and Shrimp Salad, Moroccan Harira, Lamb Bobotie, and Durban Chicken. There are also classic options like chicken bites, macaroni and cheese, and spaghetti and meatballs that will appeal to picky eaters and kids. The wide range of entrees allows everyone in the family to design the meal they like while enjoying the ambiance of an African marketplace. You can also walk the grounds of the Animal Kingdom Lodge before or after your meal and spot African animals that call the resort home.

It’s Oktoberfest all year long at the Biergarten restaurant in Germany. This dinner show features an authentic German polka band playing lively tunes throughout your meal. The lunch and dinner buffet includes German classics like bratwurst, sauerkraut, sausages, and schnitzel. They also have a wide selection of German beers for purchase.

Tips for Making Dining Reservations for Large Groups at Disney

Making dining reservations for a large group takes extra planning, but enjoying Disney with your extended friends and family is worth it! The best chance of snagging a dining reservation for your large group at Disney is to:
  • Book your reservation right when your dining window opens (at 5 am CST, 60 days before your check-in date).
  • Stay at a Disney Resort (so you can make reservations for up to 10 days on the first day your booking window opens).
  • Monitor open reservations and cancellations, especially closer to your trip.
If you can’t get one dining reservation for your entire group, you may consider splitting your group into smaller parties and making reservations for similar times (within 15 minutes of each other, if possible). Once you arrive at the restaurant, you can request to be seated together. This may increase your time waiting for a table, and it isn’t guaranteed (especially if the restaurant is busy), but you can always check.
